I just got into playing Genealogy of the Holy War about two days ago or so and I was wondering something.
Is there a patch or hack out there that allows you to use both the normal and substitute children at once in a single playthrough?
That is impossible.

How come?
So there’s 24 slots in the castle. You know how you have to pick between Johan and Johalva? Because otherwise, you’d have 25 units and the castle would overflow. This causes bad things. When you add the 14 substitutes to the 24 characters you normally get, this equals 38. 38 is greater than 24, so there just isn’t enough space for them.
