I’ve been a fan of the series ever since I first played Fire Emblem Awakening. About a few years ago, I discovered romhacking, and at this point, I’ve probably played more Fire Emblem romhacks than I have actual Fire Emblem games.
I created this account back in December of last year, and back then, it was simply under the name of “Dread”. I have barely done anything since then. I wanted to change that, so I decided that a good place to start would be to introduce myself to the community.
However, before that, I wanted to change my username, as I wasn’t quite happy with the old one. However, I had far too many ideas, so rather than pick one out of dozens, I opted to instead pick the one most similar to my previous username, and write all the rest in the About Me section.
I might still change my username again.
You see, I am a man of many ideas. Far too many, in fact, and most of them for other people’s romhacks. I do want to try modifying other people’s romhacks to insert my ideas into them (if they allow for it, of course).
However, I do have some ideas for my own hacks.
I have a couple of basic premises for hacks, like a hack based around incorporating as many fire emblem archetypes as possible, and another hack with very heavy fairy tale influences, particularly the Little Mermaid. My funniest idea is of a romhack where the creator is isekai’d into the very world he created.
I also have a couple of more developed premises for romhacks, and both of which might be bad ideas: One which is centered around a city covered in a cursed fog which causes units to go berserk, and thus, every single map is a fog level; And the other romhack, which combines elements of both Genealogy of the Holy War and Neon Genesis Evangelion, with the premise being that multiple generations of noble houses descended from Nephilim go on a crusade into monster-infested lands to rid the world of evil once and for all, only for it to go horribly, horribly wrong.
The latter idea exists to mainly so that I can do something that, to my knowledge, no one else has done: create multiple generations of units.
I might have to create a separate post to go into my romhack ideas in-depth.
Finally, I’d like to mention one last thing about myself in case anyone was interested: I am something of a hobby writer, and have been trying to make it more of a habit.
This year, for my New Year’s Resolution, I told myself that I would write one short story a month. So far, I’ve finished four of them, and half-completed two. So like, 5 out of 10.
That’s not too bad, right? I’m sure it bodes well for my romhacking career.
