  • Over 20 new characters have been added since version 1.1.
  • New items and stratagems!
  • Brand new difficulty modifiers.
  • Rewards for clearing Density 11 & 12.
  • Act 2A is available to unlock! Discover a new side-story and fight a powerful new boss.

Quality of Life and Balance

Hey everyone! I’ve updated the EXE build to version 1.3. Here’s what you can expect.

Hi all! I’ve updated the EXE to version 1.2. Here’s a summary of the new stuff you will find:

  • Over 25 new characters have been added since version 1.2.
  • New items, stratagems, maps, etc.

Ohh passwords are exciting, I love having a nice password system. Excited to see what passwords are cooked up.

Since you mentioned on discord (and updated the thread) that you’re accepting hack crossover character submissions still, I’ll do one.

  • Character: Regis (from Four Kings/The Dream Spirit)

  • Stat/growth trends: Gigantic magic, like as high as possible. Decent HP, skill, res, poor everything else.

  • Unpromoted class: Mage (anima)

  • Promoted class: Sage (anima + staves)

  • Gender: Male

  • Portrait by Zmr:
    Regis new

  • Affinity: Light

  • Skills: Magic Overflow [Command] - Activate to reduce unit magic to 0 for 1 turn. All adjacent allies receive this unit’s magic stat for 1 turn. (((Let me know if this is too powerful or complex, or just adjust it however you need to for balance purposes. If not doable, then just do Drive Magic or something to that effect.)))

  • Item: Maelstrom - PRF anima tome, 3-15 range, 90 hit, 8 Mt, 20 weight. (((Also adjust combat stats as needed for balance, but please retain the range as much as you can)))

  • Item: Flask - usable item. Contains alcohol. Restores 10 HP when used. No special effect, just a flavored vulnerary.

  • Use remaining two points to bump up his base anima rank.

Let me know if anything needs tweaking. Do you also need his battle palette?

Thanks for the submission! I’ll probably do some balance tweaks when implementing, but will try to retain as much of the vision as possible.

This project doesn’t use battle animations (we have far, far too many weird weapon/class combinations), so I won’t need battle palettes.

Crossover you say? Well, let me throw my hat in the ring.

*Character: Stephen Redharr (from Tale of Ternon)

*Stat trends: Decently balanced, Lower Res.

*Growth Trends: Higher strength and skill growths, otherwise same as above.

*Unpromoted Class: Mercenary (Sword)

*Promoted Class: Hero (Sword/Axe)

*Gender: Male

*Portrait by ErrantShepherd:
Mug-SHEP-TACTICS-PC2
*Affinity: Fire

*Skills: Chivalry: When foe is at full HP,
attack and def/res +2. (His personal skill from Tale of Ternon) (1 point, feel free to adjust)

*Item: Ignoble Blade - PRF sword, 1 range, 90 hit, 8 Mt, 8 weight. Effect: Halves the DMG of an enemy of higher level. Halves Stephen’s damage if enemy is lower level. (1 point. If that’s too complicated feel free to come up with your own mechanics, but the basic idea is making the battle ā€œfairā€.)

*Item: Arcana Shield - equipable item. Reduces all magic damage taken by 25%. (one of the accessories from Tale of Ternon) (1 point)

*Additional Weapon Ranks: (1 point to Axes)

*Elevate base weapon rank (1 Point to Swords)

Hope this is acceptable, lemme know if you need anything else? (Or want a Book of Exiles character, maybe?)

well, it was, but then subs were closed for a good reason, so the only way your stuff is gonna get in if its a crossover… well, you`ve made a hack, yeah?

Hi! I was wondering the differences between this hack and Hetja’s Quest. Is one easier or harder? What tips do you have?

This is not a hack, it is a Fangame created in the lex talionis engine, as such there is so much more mechanical complexity that can be reasonably produced.
It has a Massive cast, each member completelly unique, and a Huge array of items and other systems that simply cannot exists in the Gba romhacks, atleast not for now.
I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone interested in what sort of unique ideas can be pulled off with the lex talionis engine.

I have updated the EXE build to fix some bugs. Additionally, 3 new characters have been added.

You say to install Lex Talonis, but there’s both the engine and the maker. What’s needed? How do you keep your save files? The guides didn’t really help me figure out where to start.

The best I got was this error on the ā€œclick to runā€

To transfer your save you would copy your ā€˜Eotf-persistent-records’ file to the new save folder.
As for Lex talionis, you would now require a specific branch which will take a bit more work and experience with GIt, i heavily recommend you simply use the exe version as it’s very much up to date, otherwise Join the Lex Talionis discord to ask for help♄

Hi! I’ve been playing the .EXE version for a while now! I’ve enjoyed the fact it’s slightly harder than a lot of hacks and has a lot of variety. I’ve definitetly ran into situations that were a bit unfair (no healing for a while, mostly), and I’ve started to get tired playing the first few maps over and over, but I’ve really enjoyed all the unique unit identities.

I recently had an error. I had a unit attack a Wyvern, and ā€œtoo many items!ā€ appeared. I did not defeat the Wyvern.

I tried uploading the debug file here and to pastebin, but it’s too big for Pastebin, and FEU doesn’t allow .txt files, so not sure how to send it over.

EDIT: It seemed to have happened again. If I had to guess, I think Alya’s ā€œGod’s Imageā€ can’t handle getting new weapon types between maps?

I wish the Support (in-game) text had a help description so I knew which each type of support did! I know it is explained at base, but…
Also, I wish the ā€œDefend Placeā€/ā€œProtect Unitā€ was in the objective description. This costed me a run when I accidentally hit ā€œBā€ and skipped some dialogue on a boss fight. Turns out I was supposed to defend a point! Oops.

It’s possible to run LT engine games on Android now via emulating Windows, if you’re willing to take some performance hits and go through many steps to set it up. This is a big deal for the LT community! I encourage those without a PC but who do have phones to consider this option.
