How do you reduce a jpeg file size?

I tried reducing a jpeg file for the chapter title jpeg but it didnt work, when i reduced the size to the size FEBuilder told me it just went back to the OG size. Any way to do this?

Febuilder and roms in general avoid jpeg I’m pretty sure.
Try .png. export from febuilder, edit as desired, import again
