Hello new idea guy just dropped

Hello there! My name is Reb, and I’ve been lurking on feu for a little bit now, so I figured I’d make an introduction post. I don’t have a very long history with FE, only started playing about two years ago with fe7 on NSO, but since then the series has just about taken over all of my game time. I can’t articulate why it’s so addictive, but it’s the first series in a long time that has captured my attention so thoroughly. I can’t get enough.

I joined FEU earlier this year in search of new experiences, and oh boy have I been busy. The output from this community is incredible, and I love getting to experience the stories and play around with the little dudes you all have created. Two hacks in particular have blown me away, Drums of War (Roxelana my beloved) and Bells of Byelen (stat caps at 20 my beloved), and I’ve also been loving TMGC, thought I’m not finished with it yet (Alexis <3)

I hope to one day add my own entry to the pot. my primary creative outlet is music, and I enjoy writing as well, but I know squat about programming and art, so there are some hurdles I have to get over before anything takes form. I think y’all refer to people like me as ‘Idea Guys,’ and oh boy do I got ideas. Hopefully before too long I’ll be at a point where I can share some of them :smiley:

What else… I love playing bass and reading fantasy novels… a significant portion of my vocabulary is made up of Metal Gear Solid quotes… Daisuke Ishiwatari is my hero… I love Lot fe6… that just about covers it. Pleasure to meet y’all!

Howdy. As a fellow newcomer, idea guy, bass player, and fantasy reader, I welcome you to FEU. Do you play upright or bass guitar?

I play bass guitar! Would love to play upright but it’s not in the cards rn. Don’t have the bread, as Jaco would say.

How about you? Who are your favorite players?

I played upright bass in school, still do now in my free time. Been looking to get a bass guitar though. My older brother got me into bass, so either him, Pär Sundström, or Ray Brown.

Yeeeeeah Ray Brown! One of the best to ever do it fs. I’ve been listening to a lot of Stanley Clarke’s stuff recently.

I don’t think I’ve heard Stanley Clarke, if I’m being honest. I’ll be sure to give him a listen though.

He’s phenomenal. Master of both electric and upright, sometimes he’ll switch mid-song. It’s inspiring. He played with Chick Corea on all of the Return to Forever stuff, and he also has a lot of solo stuff that’s worth listening to.
