Ah super intended chandlers! Cant wait for a unforgettable luncheon!
So I managed to get the 10 sprites for Spritetober completed, with one more day to go. Originally I was contemplating for this pair to actually release a trio and do Yang as well, but I decided that Blake alone was probably enough. This year alone I’ve drawn 93 portraits. That’s pretty crazy, the past two years I was rushing portraits out the door to make it to 100 by New Years, so maybe I’ll slow down, take longer breaks and or maybe do some more work on some personal art projects once I hit the hundo. My friends did just get me Pokemon ZA for my birthday earlier in the month and I should play that.

Also here is a compilation image of this years Spritetober sprites;

I’ve updated the main post with the below entries under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (Non Game Franchises - Rooster Teeth - RWBY - Adam Taurus and Blake Belladona)
RWBY - Adam Taurus
So Adam is set up originally as a major player and a strong villain that the heroes have to overcome. Acts edgy and is pretty much a furry Vergil with a tendency to favour black clothing (with formal coat styles) and his Iaido style wielding of his katana. I thought I was going to struggle with his hair since its kind of a mess in his OG model from RWBY and is inconsistent between his art depictions in other related media outside of the OG web series. However honestly his mask ended up being harder to do, because the red on it requires his mask to be bigger to draw the detail on it, which would make it disproportionate to the FE GBA proportions. Otherwise I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. I did prefer his Season 1 - 3 outfit designs over his later ones, even if its less detailed. It sorta fits his personality as a wannabe edgy bad guy better.
RWBY - Blake Belladona
The second girl of the main cast that I have drawn. Like Ruby this is her season 1 - 3 design, so she still has her long hair and wears a bit more black to her white still. Because I was using some dark blacks as base I ended up using the outline colour a lot in her hair. Although I probably could of easily given myself an extra tone by reducing the eye colour by one tone, but I think it turned out well enough. So she is a faunus like Adam and Sun who are basically kind of like Laguz where they have elements of their animal (tails, horns, ears, etc.) and usually the have aspects from their animal part enhanced (eg cat Faunus can be more agile). Like the Laguz the faunus are discriminated against in the worldbuilding of RWBY, so to hide her identity initially, Blake wears a head bow that covers her ears so there is an alt available without the head bow. I actually drew the ears first then the bow over the top.
So I’ve been following the League of Legends Worlds Championships again this year and well its pretty nutty again if you’ve been following some of the regional scenes. The finalists are not who were expected to be there going in and hopefully that means the finals which is on Sunday (9/11) for me are going to be a banger.
So here is another League of Legends portrait (although she hasn’t seen pro play this year in the worlds tournament). I do dabble in it occasionally when friends want to play or when there is a fun casual game mode, but the Worlds season always makes people want to play more. Senna is one of my favourite champions to play, mainly because I don’t have the hands to play some of the hyper moving or complex characters.
I’ve updated the main post with the below entries under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (Other Games - Riot Games - League of Legends - Senna)
League of Legends - Senna
At first her design appears simple, she has like two primary colours (White cloak and black underclothing and hair. However she ended up a bit more complex palette wise because she also has a gold pattern on her cloak, plus a gold shoulder plate, shoulder emblem, chest emblem and her locks also have gold pieces of jewelry wrapped around them and capping them. In addition to this she has glowing green eyes. Fortunately for me while I was playing around with her skin tone, I couldn’t actually get 5 suitable differing skin tones so she actually only has 4. I also decided not to try and sub in the red under colour of her cloak and just fill the few bits you see with the darkest brown and border tone. The one less skin tone actually allowed me to comfortably have gold for the the gold bits and even have green for her glowing eyes.
I never played the game again or watched another world championship, but as a support player, I love seeing the girl with the really hurtful shot in the late game… oh yeah, and the healing shot.
So my favourite team won the Worlds Championships and their ADC (bot lane auto attacking carry, usually a ranged champion) was the Finals MVP. The final champion he played in the final match was Miss Fortune. Now there has been a bit of drama surrounding him throughout the year and now more recently his exit from the team, but still wanted to draw a character to celebrate his win.
In other news, I’ve been taking a break, currently about 2 thirds through Pokemon Legends AZ and I have to say its a pretty good Pokemon game (I haven’t watched or read reviews before going in), despite being confined to Lumiose, its pretty big. There aren’t really loading screens so you get a nice sense of scale of the city and there is some limited parkour that expands the map (the map is not just the streets and parks of the city, but you also traverse the rooftops sort of like a PG Assasins Creed style). Still another reason why it took a while to draw something else was because I also was facing a bit of a spriters block. However I think I’ve got an idea on what to draw next. Tossing up between another Advance Wars CO, another Adventure Quest character, another Marvel Rivals character or another OC.
I’ve updated the main post with the below entries under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (Other Games - Riot Games - League of Legends - Miss Fortune)
League of Legends - Miss Fortune
So I’ve been also meaning to draw Miss Fortune at some point especially in her current Captain Fortune outfit (which is her current canon outfit, but not her original default one)). Her hat was always going to be a challenge to fit into the hackbox so it is shrunken a little bit, but still remains reasonably sized I believe. Her hat design is kind of inconsistent in a lot of the art references I was looking at so this is the design I ended up on. The other challenge is the feather sticking out the back of it is usually a lighter purple, but I ran out of colours due to also needing yellow/gold trimming (which meant I couldn’t double up with her rosier skin tones). Otherwise she turned out pretty well. She was also obviously the inspiration for my Roseanne pirate OC as well.
Cool hat imo
So its been a while and we hit December now. I finished Legends AZ’s main story and honestly, I quite enjoyed it. The story has some surprising progressions in it and a number of the characters are quite whacky. The gameplay felt pretty smooth although I will say not having abilities in it does dumb down some of the strategy and did change the way I approached some things (eg Levitate pokemon are now weak to Earthquake and you ain’t going to get stopped from OHKO Pokemon with Sturdy). Aside from that I’ve been playing some more Nightreign in anticipation for the new DLC, so looking forward to that too.
With this I’ve done a CO from every faction except for Blue Moon. I’ll probably get around to doing the AW 2 complete cast eventually and maybe some DS ones as well (Javier, is my 2nd favourite Green Earth CO), but I won’t make it a project to do in one go like I did Fates and Awakening, I still want to draw a number of other things.
I’ve updated the Non Fire Emblem Properties post with the below entry under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (Nintendo - Advance Wars - Kanbei)
Advance Wars - Kanbei
The main leader of Yellow Comet (although they got renamed to Gold Comet in Reboot Camp). I decided to go with his OG Advance Wars 2 design. I think its my favourite as it strikes a nice balance between his cartoonish caricature look in Advance Wars 1 and his more serious look in Advance Wars DS. For some reason his Reboot Camp design reminds me of Arin Hanson/Egoraptor from the Game Grumps more so than Kanbei. His regular costume is actually quite plain, but even so his cape was annoying to shade and I’m still not 100%% happy with it. Then for his alt design his chest plate and cape is based on Lundgren’s armour from FE 7. Then I decided to torture myself and make him a version of Ryoma’s shoulders from FE Fates. + his armour is coloured in gold with silver trimming which was actually quite hard as I had to work with only 3 tones for his silver trimming rather than the 4 I have used for others such as Silas, Frederick and Gunther, but I’m overall pretty happy with how his alt turned out.
Well we’re nearing Christmas, everyone is busy and I have 14 days left to knock out maybe 3 more portraits to meet the 100. I felt like maybe I should do something red themed as we near Christmas, so here is another Adventure Quest character. The leader of the Evil Shadowscythe faction.
Although honestly I haven’t touched Adventure Quest for a great many years, it does have a somewhat special place in my memories as being an early flash game series/universe from the earlyish days of the internet next to Runescape, Flashring, Habbo Hotel, Flashring etc.
I’ve updated the Non Fire Emblem Properties post with the below entry under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (Artix Entertainment - Adventure Quest Worlds - Empress Gravelyn Pulchure)
Adventure Quest Worlds - Empress Gravelyn Pulchure
Another Adventure Quest character. This time a villain(?)(from memory its complicated). Her design is really red, and also kind of reminds me of Walhart a little bit with the spikes etc. She used a surprising amount of colours for so much red (there is like 7 different red tones in use). I actually got stuck on her hair for the longest time because if you’ve ever played AQW, their designs are really simplistic and any other detailed reference to her are not usually her iconic look and most of them change her haircut. Otherwise I’m pretty happy with how I captured her face look as well and got a bit creative with her shoulder plate spikes. I think if I were to revisit her, I’d take another shot at shading her shoulder plates.
Holy nostalgia dude I miss aqw so much ![]()

She’s just as beautiful as the day i lost her ![]()
Lovely work as always ![]()
I aimed to have gotten these out before Christmas, however it took me a little longer than anticipated and now were just heading to 1am on Christmas Night/Morning(?) here. Anyhow heres to a Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone.
I do aim to finish one more portrait by the new year for that 100 portraits made this year mark. What that will be, I’m not entirely sure yet. Choice or inspiration paralysis happens when you don’t have a project to work towards I guess.
I’ve updated the Non Fire Emblem Properties post with the below entry under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (Dispatch - Punch Up (Colm))
Dispatch - Punch Up (Colm)
So I figured I’d draw another character from one of the hit game releases this year and decided on something more simple… sort of. Punch Up’s facial/portrait design alone is simple, however I wanted to highlight his punchiness and went with his fist up pose which meant trying to draw that tattoo on his forearm. Combined with the fact he has a five o’clock shadow meant I actually didnt have a lot of colours to work with. I did consider just using two tones for his shirt, but it didnt work out so I decided to utilise those greens for his tattoo as well. Since I wasn’t 100% happy with his tattoo I’ve also released a clean forearm alt.
I’ve also updated the main Fire Emblem post with the below entry under F2E - Fire Emblem Fodlan Saga - FE 3 Houses - Gatekeeper)
FE 3 Houses - Gatekeeper
So I wanted to do a Christmas themed character for Christmas and wouldn’t you know it. FEH came up with the concept for me. This years winter event has the Gatekeeper with a Christmas themed skin. However I didn’t just want to just do that alt and decided to make his base Three Houses look first. Not much to say about his design other than I decided not to add the extra bolt/rivet circle bits on his chest because they might of been a bit too small to make look alright whereas the ones on his helmet are a bit more iconic. His outfit did mean I was maybe one tone short for his red for his Christmas outfit, but I made it work.
Welp I cranked out the 100th portrait for the year for myself. The 2nd OC drawn this year and probably the last portrait for the year from me. It’s been a long year and seems busy probably due to drawing the Fates project by myself, but it was a fun project.
I think next year I’m not going to aim for 100 portraits and I definitely don’t have any FEU/Fire Emblem project ideas lined up going into the new year. I do have some bigger personal art projects I think I want to work on, we’ll see how that goes. I will probably still do some portraits and post them up here still, but not nearly as frequently as I have in the past 3 years. Although when Fortune’s Weave comes out, I’ll probably pop back in a bit more round then too.
Other than that there are your yearly New Years resolutions and all. I hope you all have a happy new year and best of luck going forward.
I’ve updated the Non Fire Emblem Properties post with the below entry under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (OCs/Misc - Tourmaline)
Tourmaline
2nd OC of the year and probably the last portrait of the year. I kind of wanted to draw a green haired character and the fact I was up to drawing another female character, so we ended up with another female OC. Tourmaline or shortened to Maline (pronounced May-lean) is envisioned as your early healer. Her personality is to be a bit more plucky, feisty for a healer. Her background idea is to be a priestess/cleric of a more poor background hence the simple top and cleric veil/hood, but her personality remains strong in spite of her surrounding/background hardships.
Recommendations:
I originally envisioned her design to be one of the following class types;
Priestess/Cleric, Bishop, Valkyrie. Although could be done as a thief/mage too if you treat the veil as a cloak hood instead.
Well I hope everyone has had a nice new years. I’m still taking it chill, been playing a handful of games (currently playing the current season of Diablo 4, Marvel Rivals, League of Legends, Nightreign and Path of Radiance on NSO), with a few of my backlog still to go. I’m still probably not going to draw something new to post on here for a while, but I was thinking about touching up some older portraits here and there, so I decided to go back and revisit Xander who was one of the first portraits I drew when I rejoined FEU 4 years ago. Also I have provided his clothing and haircut as separate pieces below if you’d like to use them for splicing.

I’ve also updated the Fire Emblem Fates post with the below entry under F2E - Fire Emblem Fates Saga - FE 14 Fates - Xander)
FE 14 Fates - Xander
EDIT: Went back and touched up his armour, cravat (coloring as well) speaking and blinking frames
Well its been a while, still not another new portrait, however this spruce up is a lot more involved than the last one. I decided to revisit an old OC because I felt it was missing a bit more oomph and was a bit too plain at the time (although that was because I got lazy with his shoulder robe).
In other news I’ve finished PoR again and I decided to try and run some characters I don’t usually run on it (this time I ran Nephenee, Volke, Mist and Elincia). You know what I’m surprised at how tough the final chapter units ended up being, that said its been a very long time since I last played it.
Also like Xander, here are some bits and pieces for splicing if desired.

I’ve updated the Non Fire Emblem Properties post with the below entry under F2E - Non Fire Emblem Properties (OCs/Misc - Sumer)
Sumer
EDIT: I felt his original design may have been too plain and at the time was lazy with his shoulder robe, so I’ve updated his shoulder robe design, made his far shoulder slightly more buffed and gave him a lion pauldron because its cool.
It’s been a month, still been really busy. Still got a lot of things coming up so drawing has been slow. Also been on a bit of an art block with my personal art project I’m working on so that hasn’t helped either.
However here is another substantial re update of an older portrait. I decided to go back and revisit Chrom and make an alt where his head and hair closer resembles his Awakening portrait.
Chrom
EDIT: I’ve gone back and decided to make an alt of his head and hair closer to his Awakening portrait. I decided to keep the same colours as before for consistency.
A needed update imo. Now he looks a bit more accurate to his Awakening appearance, and I would say he also matches a bit more his fallen/risen king alt.
