EDIT: after looking into this, it seems rather difficult to make pegasus riders use unique portraits due to how unit deployment is handled, might come back to this at a later date.
I could make other portraits for generics if you want.
Alright, Beta 1.1.1 has been uploaded, which should hopefully fix all of the issues that I can reasonably fix today, like I said, the animations for corrin and chrom will be missing for a while until someone makes them, and the unique portraits for each class will require a complete rewrite of the unit deployment system, which will take a long time if I wish to implement these portraits.

Do units promote, or do you just buy promoted units?

It would be pretty a pretty interesting mechanic if you had to buy/loot master seals and train up your units.
It would be, but to be honest, in all of my playtesting I’ve never had a generic unpromoted unit go past level 4. unit life expectancy is just too low to realistically ever reach level 10 unless you play super careful with them, and even then it would just take forever.
Do you think you could make it so deployed unpromoted units could spawn at level 7 or 8? That might fix the problem.
I could do that, I can also just make it so you can use a master seal at any level, I’d have to figure out a way to implement master seals in a rewarding way though.
EDIT: after thinking about this some more I think it would actually be more balanced if you could only get promoted units through promoting, instead of just purchasing them outright, I’d have to play around with it, but I think I can make this work.
Well master seals could probably come from chests on the field or from shops for a high price, adding another layer of strategy. There could also be Npc units who spawn at a certain area, some of which could be very powerful and have a master seal in their inventory.
In fact, this could create a use for thieves, as they are the only units who can open chests without keys. How about a thief portrait just in case you want one. (Modified Ephidel)
I will look at how to go about implementing master seals tomorrow, like I said before, it’s not realistically achievable to give each class a unique portrait unfortunately, but I appreciate your enthusiasm.
Yeah, I’ll back off on the portraits and other stuff. It’s your project, and your time. You do what you want to do, and I’ll just fling ideas around when I have one in the meantime.
