Fire Emblem Minecraft Texture Pack

Technically a “Resource Pack,” it includes sound effects too, such as footsteps for different surface types that GBA battle animations use! This resource pack should work for most Minecraft Java versions from the past few years.

Primarily uses assets from the GBA games, with some textures from SNES FE. Also a couple of My Castle resource icons from Fates. So far, everything is taken directly from the official games. Palette swaps to represent different wood types for example are all variations that appeared in-game. Thus, not all wood types are represented yet. The closest to anything custom so far is lengthening the Iron Lance’s held-in-hand sprite to correspond with the Minecraft sprite’s dimensions, while keeping the 16x16 inventory icon.

This is a bit of an odd project, but I feel it would be better to post about it here than on a Minecraft focused website because Minecraft is incredibly mainstream. I’m not part of any Minecraft community and don’t seek to join one just to share an unfinished texture pack. There have been some old attempts at Fire Emblem texture packs for Minecraft Alpha/Beta. My project is made from scratch and unrelated to those ones except in subject matter.

I appreciate any feedback to improve the Resource Pack. For example, only iron weapons have FE textures because that’s the only overlap in equipment tiers without changing what the item’s supposed to represent, i.e. giving diamond weapons silver weapon textures. There’s another question of which blocks should have transparency. Currently trapdoors have the holes blacked out because that’s how they appear in the village tileset.

There’s also the possibility of adding custom sprites where the vanilla games don’t have an equivalent, such as from the repo or someone who wants to contribute to the pack. The idea is to develop the pack as a community through suggestions such as “use this texture for that.”

To prevent the pack from the fate of those early attempts, I grant permission to anyone wanting to pick up the torch to use this project as a base if this thread goes inactive.
