Hello there!
Its been a little over a month so that means I now have more stuff to share!
To start with a new milestone, we now have over 90+ custom animations for the hack! I-I can’t believe I have made this many for this one silly hack. Its kind of crazy. Realistically, I think there is roughly a dozen animations left to make. In regard to animations, the end is in sight!
I am proud to announce that Chapter 10 is finished! It took several months but I can finally lay it to rest (for now). We are now full speed ahead on Chapter 11 which will take place in a certain familiar desert…
With this familiar desert comes familiar some familiar enemies from said desert, but this time without their special flying machines. I am of course talking about Twitch and Vinegar!
I don’t want to spoil why they are without their flying machines but it was fun getting to animate them on foot so I could do goofy things like Vinegar pulling out a minigun.

We also have a new desert enemy that will be appearing in this chapter; a Naga!
This serpent lady will attack with both her powerful claws and her voice! For those GBC Shantae veterans, don’t worry, it won’t track you all the way across the map. Oof.
I’ve saved the best new animation for last. After 2 painful months, the Seer Dance Fusion animation for Plink is finished!
With her, all 5 half-genies have their fusion animations done. In game, the player will have the option, similar to Shantae, to transform into these divine beings. But they are not all powerful, as they will have special weaknesses that you will need to watch out for.
To summarize all the transformations that these half genies will have access to, here is a nice little Class Tree showcasing all of them. But who knows, maybe I can sneak in a few more. (I’ll finish the spider one day…)
I saw Hatsuru do this in their Holoemblem hack so I just had to incorporate this myself. The player Phase notification has now been changed to say “Shantae Phase” along with an appropriate pallet change. Thanks for the awesome idea!
In DATonDemand’s thread, Crazy stuff you can do without asm editing in builder, I posted an entry on how to create weapon affinity icons for expanded weapon types. Well here are a few those new icons I’ve made for Shantaemblem.
While the end is in sight for completing all 14 chapters, there is still so much work left to be done. The biggest one being portraits, which I bring up each time I post. With FEE3 coming in August, I am running out of time to have them ready for my submission. I’m still exploring how I plan to get some of them made in time, but if you would like to help, as always, just let me know.

Question: Will you be going for rng growths or fixed growths for this project?
I haven’t actually considered either. I’ve been “balancing” the chapters I believe based off random growths but mainly just to know if the chapter is completable. Once I have all the chapters finished or nearly finished and open up playtesting, then I guess I can decide from there what is best.
