[FE8] Sacred Stones Reforged v1.0.4

I recommend MyBoy! As it’s the most stable GBA emulator on Android.

Question and feedback here!

Context: playing Lunatic, Ephraim route, currently Chapter 10

firstly, loving it! Brings just enough new spice to enjoy a classic, but not so much changed that I feel lost in the sauce. Particularly weapon durability, enjoying being able to not worry about breaking a useful weapon and instead USING it.

now my question. Is the Tower of Valni not available during the main campaign? I’ve past where the typical unlock stage would be, but the tower remains inaccessible. Like it doesn’t even show up in the map. Is this an intended change?

Hi :slightly_smiling_face:

Recently downloaded this and having a lot of fun! Is there a list of all of the classes and promotions? My brain needs me to plan my final team in advance to be at peace :joy:

The tower doesn’t open until late game on lunatic mode specifically, on all other modes it will open at the usual time

Glad to hear it! There is an in depth guide available in the discord server linked in the thread!

Thank you for clarifying! Also two possible bugs I may have encountered!

one, any time I will save on a skirmish battle, it saves as: “Prologue: Fall of Renais”

And two, there was a skirmish on the map, and when I entered a District, and returned to the map, the skirmish had disappeared.

still really enjoying it and the freshness is amazing! Very well done!

Wow, this mod is absolutely great! Genuine question, though, as someone dipping his toes into FEBuilder and the like… How did you make merchants only sell 1 of certain items, while other items are able to be bought infinitely?

There’s this hack:

I’m on chapter 4 and so far this is among the best reskins/rebalances i’ve ever played, it’s on level with sacred trilogy and project jade imo.

Glad you’re enjoying it! The code from Contro that Epicer linked is the same one that was used in Reforged.

Got to create an account to give thanks to you! It was a refreshing experience and I loved it! Every map felt good to play meaning the changes are good. The new animations, the new added CGs, the changes to the gameplay and maps, the Neimi sprite that doesn’t look like Neimi but looks badass :joy: (I also LOVE the bishop Artur animation AND Innes new sprite too), that Dozla sprite hahaha, and the Dark Mage Ewan animation omg  (So many good sprites here!) It was all so well done. Thanks for this and keep up!

But I wish there was a guide file that details the weapon triangle, I think it might be ±3 dmg ±20 hit but I’m not sure if it’s just that.

And I wish the support would build more like Awakening and Fates, that would be easier to understand and keep up, right now it’s kind of tricky and makes you confused. And sometimes it builds sometimes it doesn’t? I must be a bug (I did kill the enemy while other appropriate support units was within 3 spaces, but the heart didn’t show up/showed up at one unit but not the other. Made me think there was a limit. But then after awhile it built again. So weird.) You really should change it to Awakening system where characters is getting points by having a battle with the support units in range. That would be sooo much easier to follow. And it works, that’s why they’ve kept it up for 3 games. (But still keep it being built within 3 spaces. 2 spaces are too limited.)

Other than that I don’t think of anything more to say and hope for your FE7 reforged if you ever feel like it  (Or just add your Tana new customized sprite lol anyway I’d like to hear more )

Hey, I got an idea on how you should handle the support. First, let’s get rid of that heart icon popping up, or it’ll only pop up red when the characters can have a support conversation now (< this is the better option). Second, characters would accumulate support points like how they do in awakening, but keep it be within 3 spaces like the present version. About support points, it should be +8 per battle (you can think more about this I’m just suggesting) so after about 10 turns, 2 characters can get a support (a chapter’s often completed around 10 turns so it fits that characters can get to the next support rank in the next chapter)

And how are you gonna guide the player about the new support change? It should be from chapter 1 (not prologue since that chapter already has a guide about skills). When two characters meet the requirement then a guide scroll would pop up saying like “A and B have just received support points because they were within 3 spaces when A engaged with the enemy. When they accumulate enough support points, a heart will pop up indicating that they can have a support conversation.

On what character a character can support with, check the support menu in the battle preparations.”

How do you think about it? If it sounds good or some parts sound good you can take it. Glad if I’m helping in some way

Thanks a lot for this great hacks, I’ve been playing it many times and this is really awesome.
Now I can’t wait for Retroachievment on it :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably won’t be checked up on, but a mini boss in chapter 14 Eirika does not seem to spawn if I restart the chapter. The one with the Cleave Bow and a portrait.

Some of these custom animations like Riev are so damn beautiful. Would it be possible to use them for my own smaller scale work with proper credit given?

i am absolutely loving this hack. the attention to detail when it comes to the ui/interface is very satisfying in particular. wish i could get used to using purple for the color lol. the animations are of course extremely impressive as well and the free roam in towns mechanic is super cool. one of the greatest hacks ive ever played

thank you for the kind words! you can change the purple back to blue in the options under “window color” also!

Hi! Sorry, at the moment the custom animations are not f2u. If this changes in the future I will update the thread to let people know!

Hi, there. I’m brand new to FE ROM Hacks and I’ve been trying to get Reforged on my Tablet. However, I’ve encountered several problems. First, I don’t know which emulator is the proper one to use for a Kindle Fire, or if this hack is even compatible with mobile to began with. Mind helping a fellow enthusiast out?

@xyris You can definitely play a rom hack on mobile devices. Although I don’t know what is available for Kindle Fire. Try looking up “emulator” or “gba” on it’s app store.

Do you know how to patch roms? I can’t tell you where to get a rom, other than saying to dump one from a Sacred Stones GBA cartridge. But when you get a rom, you can use a utility like Rom Patcher JS to patch it. Then you can open and play it with an emulator you find.
