So…you made the Javelin and Handaxe, the two most important weapons in GBAFE, midchapter exclusives without warning us ingame
Awesome

They aren’t exclusive or nearly as important here (1-2 weapons in general are nerfed), there are other javelins and handaxes available and the hatchet is impossible to miss unless you let Ross die. The ch2 armory just has a somewhat earlier one, though it doesn’t make much of a difference overall tbh
Theres literally both in ch2 armory

Okay, so I have one extremely, gravely important question, the answer of which Is of utmost interest to me.
A question that may decide if I shall play this hack or not, a question that shall decide my fate, a question that shall set my course anew, be it forward, towards this particular piece of art, or towards the search of something else.
A question that I am almost terrified of asking for how much weight it carries and how scared am I of the answer I fear getting to it.
A question that is ALMOST as important as the “did they give Joshua his stupid hat in this hack?”.
This question…
…Is…

Does Seth have a convo with Valter in chapter 15?
He has a boss convo with Valter.
However, It’s not in chapter 15, as he was moved to a different chapter
Had to make an account just to leave some praise for this hack. (I’m that schmuck who made the FE board game fan project Anna’s Roundtable)
This revisit of FE8 felt like playing a definitive remaster of the game and was just SUCH a joy to play.
I played the original release and have not patched it yet and beat it on lunatic with Ephiram’s route. I will likely come back to it and play Eirika’s route instead next time after you finish implementing all of the things you still want to do.
In particular I love all of the gameplay changes you made. They made the game so much more interesting and appealing on lunatic, and felt like it was made specifically for emulator play with save states as a feature, like how modern FE games have the turnwheel.
The skills were all so fun. The dropped skills felt rewarding to plan out but didn’t feel TOO broken or intrusive (though I wish there were more of the). And giving skills to the less popular/powerful characters were so good to see making them more unique and fun to use. Even the OCs were cool though I did not end up using any of them this run since I had not played FE8 in maybe a decade and wanted to indulge in nostalgia a bit more.
And the CGs!!! Wow! WOW. Amazing. They were all so pretty and felt so natural. Seriously this felt like how the game always should have been.
Of course, I have to also share some feedback as a game design enthusiast, so hope you’ll not take any offense. Please also take these all with a grain of salt though as I’m sure you’ve thought through them already.
I don’t think these were flaws in any way, overall this was genuinely a great experience. Thank you so much for making it! I have been recommending it to all my FE fan friends.
Will you ever make a FE 7 remaster like this in the future?
So long as he has one with him. Little things like that really show the passion one has for the original title in my opinion, and the desire to improve it in the most faithful way possible. One could easily ignore such a tiny detail as Seth already doesn’t have a boss convo with Valter in the original game, and yet… Here we are!
I’m definitely going to try this hack out first thing tomorrow evening, hoping that the final version with all the added gaiden chapters will come out soon too.
What’s the deal with the Short Bow? Is it supposed to have a brave effect?
I have to say this is really a quite good changed up sacred stone expierence.
I also dig the new pallete Lute has in battle even if it isn’t matching her portrait.
It has a small chance to hit an additional time, but it’s random. It’s a player only weapon though so you won’t have to worry about that on enemies lol
