They don’t work properly in prep screen. You need to use them on a map if you have full skills
Wait, really!? Thanks, I think I’ll note this. I can’t confirm this in my current playthrough since I had Bae end up A rank supporting Mumei instead.
Admittedly right now I want to edit but I want to preferably compact each character details to just one page each. I kinda don’t want the format for the character pages in the character guide to be split to two pages for just one holomembers.
@Hatsuru
Also, the wrong portrait on one of Reine’s supports haven’t been fixed yet. Particularly the one with Lui.
Can confirm the Bae thing! Just happened on my playthrough
Unfortunately it also happened when she was at level 18 or 19 so I guess I missed out on crit+? I’m still not entirely sure how that system works especially in regards to these special class changes
Bae can still use magic when she switches to dancer?, I saw her first support with Suisei and suspected that would be the result, but I’d rather she stay a mage since her critics are insane.
If you didn’t get killing machine as a dancer at level 5 that means, dancer is counted as a first stage class aka level 1-20. If you do get killing machine at level 5, dancer is a promoted class meaning level 21-40. I don’t think dancer goes past 20, so if you don’t get killing machine you’ll never be able to get it.
I bard grinded to 5 to test and unfortunately I didn’t get killing machine. That’s a bummer but I suppose it’s a somewhat reasonable tradeoff, sacrificing crazy crit rate for the utility of an offensively competent dancer. I still probably would have picked not to class change if I’d known though, I wish the game was more open about the trade off.
Most of the other class changes from what I know like Matsuri, Noel, and Flare are promoted classes. Bae just had an interesting promotion into another base class which I think the only other character who does that is Azki unless some support does it that I don’t know about.
If you promote Bae and get to level 5 promoted, then get the A support, would you be able to get killing machine as a dancer?
You should yes. I don’t think any of the unlocked skills are lost on promotion. Only class skills should go away like canto
I’m on chapter 12 in my yabai playthrough aka the chicken map and I have thoughts on its design. Referring to the Guide, the player is supposed to rush to save the green unit Kiara before the chickens destroy her. A classic objective by FE standards, but there are a few elements that bog it down.
-
Chickens are way too powerful, and Kiara is too fragile. If a player is very unlucky, Kiara can just die in turn 1 by a crit (since she has 5 luck for some reason) or by Kiara being two shotted in enemy and green unit phases. I was playing on 2 RN, and I had Kiara die on me within 1-2 turns multiple times because the chickens manage to land their 37 hit attacks. If that wasn’t bad enough, if Kiara manage to kill 2 of the nearby chickens (because she has a brave sword for some reason), the third one has devil reversal and the player has to roll the 26% that Kiara doesn’t die to that. Makes this chapter a massive RNG mess. Also, is it by design that Kiara’s reincarnation skill doesn’t work when she’s a green unit? I had Kiara die but she doesn’t respawn at all.
-
The player is way too far away from Kiara to do anything. This map is long vertically (~29 tiles) and the player units start 25 tiles away from Kiara. At this point, none of the chickens that attack Kiara are in range of a siege tome or status staff to disrupt them. As much as the guide urges players to save Kiara, the game just doesn’t give them the ample opportunity to do so.
-
Kiara is a green unit instead of blue. Because of that, she can’t take advantage of leadership stars, and also, she would do dumbass things like suicide on the chickens. Why not make her blue? Fauna, Noel, Flare, and Pekora are similar in a sense: units separate from main army that needs help, but they’re all blue which allows skilled players to keep them away from danger.
The only way that Kiara survives is that she kills all three chickens including the devil reversal one and that’s just lame. It turns what could’ve been a fun objective into a reset loop until Kiara saves herself.
Edit: numbers and extra words
Part 4 and final part of custom crit quotes! From Chapter 19 onwards to the endgame characters! Also including Amelia’s alternate quotes nearing the end of the game (starting from around chapter 23) and Laplace’s quotes.
Kanata
“With all my grip strength!”
“You shall know salvation!”
“Um… let’s GO!”
“Hear the heaven’s voice!” (from her name pun, Amane, which means “sound of heaven”.)

“GET YOUR @$$ KICKED, B!+$H!!”
“Don’t F*** with a dragon!”
“WHAT DID YOU SAID, YOU MOTHERF@$^%#?!”

“Your insurance has expired!”
Aqua
“SHADDUP, BE QUIET!”
“Now who’s the fool?”
“I’m not just a mere maid!”
“Long live the Resistance!” (I decided that it’s funny to keep this even as the resistance technically disbanded after her defeat, even if you recruit her)
Iofi
“Looking suspicious, are we?”
“Shall I paint your last moments?”
“San… Dua… EIN!” (San = Japanese for “Three”, Dua = Indonesian for “Two”, Ein = German for “One”. Reference to Iofi being multilingual. Needed something to make up iirc)
“O-Bisa!” (Literally means “Oh-I can do it!” - Indonesian language again.)
Sana
“Sana! Is! Mad!” (She tend to punctuate with phrases like this.)
“I’m not alone!”
“If only you would mind your own space…!”
“You’re only a small speck compared to me!”
Towa (yes, I know she can't attack by default normally but she can actually use master proof to gain a combat weapon wtf. Pretend this is used for successful offensive staff hits)
“Feel my devilish magic!”
“Maybe I can’t hurt you, but I got something else!”
“Meheeheehee!”
“If only circumstences were different…”
Mel
“What’s your blood like?”

“I’ll find and discover Seiso! With everyone!”
“I’ll honor my promise and uncover this myth!” (Reference to the first two EN generations, “Promise” (which is the name of the 2nd gen EN after Sana leaves when it was formerly named “Council”, and the 1st EN gen’s group name “Myth”.)
Haato
“This is the strongest power…!”
“To coexist with my other self…”
“You shall know the fear of Yabai!”
“My red heart beats…”
Makes me think of one of the last maps where you change map and it starts on an ennemy turn with ennemies using siege tomes. No possibilities to avoid it except get lucky on dodges.
Maybe isn’t a big thing but what are the buff that provides Amelia/Aki “time” affinity?
Unless it’s changed I think it just replaces whatever Ice did which I think was more of a defensive affinity
I don’t know if this bug has already been reported, the skill hope doesn’t seem to work, I taught Watame the skill and it doesn’t seem to activate at any time.
I have put more time in my Yabai playthrough and I have some thoughts.
Ch 15 boat map is a fine map in concept, but I hate the rain that just comes without warning. If a player puts a flier on a sea tile or just on the tile outside the ship, the flier’s movement slows to a crawl and gets trapped for many turns until they reenter a ship tile. It’s just a massive trap for blind players and for people who were following the guide.
Ch 16x is beatable if you haven’t trained Choco, Subaru, and Shion, but I have much to say.
- Fielding base level Subaru is just not recommended because there are many enemies that can flat out one round her. Even with the training sword (if one were to still have it) to patch up her speed, she is still being doubled and killed by magic wielding monsters with 19 atk speed. Dmg wise she’s flat out inferior to Choco or Ayame against the many monsters the map will throw at the player. I have game overed multiple times here because I decided to not retreat Subaru and got punished by a hidden monster that kills her.
- I dislike how Ayame is handled here. She starts with 31 hp and has 39 phys and mag bulk. She dies in one shot if a player puts her near a 6 mov monster with 41 atk for which there are two of them hidden in the fog! Her torch sword is nice, but it just doesn’t cover enough ground to see them. She’s very risky to use as a scout which goes somewhat against the notion of her being a “strong anti-corpse unit” as the guide puts it. She can kill monsters yes, but can she handle pulling 6 mov monsters out of the fog? No. A player can bring a hp stat booster or a barrier sword just for her, but that’s usually after seeing her paper-thin defense and/or her dying in one hit.
- Needs more items to get everything. There are 6 chests in this map, and there’s only a single 2 use chest key droppable in a map where the player is not allowed to field thieves. A blind player when going through this map the first time realizing they don’t have enough chest keys would either miss out on valuable rewards or reset. Can’t say I like having to reset progress on this enormous map for the sole reason of chest keys.
Bug post:
Ina vs Smol Ame with Devil’s Whim
Ina initiates with Ancient One that has inbuilt Nihil skill but gets backfired anyway. She would’ve oneshotted Smol Ame and have full hp but nope.
When I try and promote Aki to Wyvern Knight I don’t get Luna. Death Blow works fine, but not Luna. Did that happen to anyone else? Did you remove/change the level of Luna?
I don’t remember Aki ever having the skill.
That being said, I did open the game in FEBuilder, and Wyvern Knight does have Luna in its class skill list, so I don’t know what’s going on here. Not that Aki really needed Luna to do her job even as a Wyvern Knight…
Well, I guess @Hatsuru will have to look into it.
Nihil doesn’t block every skill. It doesn’t stop Great Shield which one of the late game stop turtling enemies has. Great Shield also doesn’t stop all damage like damage skills like Luna. This was brought up a while back so I don’t think it’s a bug. Backfire from Devil’s Whim is probably intentionally allowed to bypass Nihil.
