I think you are viewing summons mostly as combat units, while most games tend to use them as support/tank units. Summons are infinitely spawnable and the only downside is that it takes the summoners turn, but if the summoner isn’t close to any combat this doesn’t really count. Summons usually have lower stats compared to your units or even if they copy stats the hp is usually really low. This not only doesn’t allow them to be near unkillable walls that can respawn even if killed, but it makes it so they are better targets for enemies to target them essentially being a tank for at least one enemy if not more in games where they can dodge. If they were strong in combat, I feel they need to be balanced out with bad avoid and defenses otherwise they would be broken.

First of all, thank you for the new patch. Now I can finally get through Ch21x because Lamy can actually do damage now.

Secondly, I turned the map entirely on its head as I found a way to cheese the anti-turtle.

By holing up in the top left room with a 1-wide choke point, I can break enemy weapons using Polka’s defenses, to stop ??? from reaching me. Then, by having Botan level-grind off of the reinforcements, she can become strong enough to chip ??? for 8 damage per hit using Steel Bows and slowly kill them.

She got a ton of EXP off of chipping ???, especially as if she crit/got Sure Shot then she deals 0 damage due to Foresight, but still gets full chip EXP. After ??? was killed I also went back and collected all the chests by wading through the reinforcements, so she got even more EXP.

Getting Botan to Lv20 is easy once she makes it to the top left room. There are an infinite supply of Lv20 Mage reinforcements from the bottom left that give good EXP to any underleveled, unpromoted unit. By carrying the Alcohol, Botan takes minimal damage and 2HKOs them in return. Additionally, since the Mages are left at low HP, they will actually run away to get healing, making it very easy to break the Fortify staff on the enemy Priest (since I didn’t have the chance to kill her earlier, due to being in a mad rush to get to the top left through all the reinforcements and after having went right first to kill the thief with the Alcohol). After reaching Lv20 and promoting, Botan was entirely attacking ??? for damage, and just ended up getting a huge amount of EXP from all the chip. After ??? died, and Botan was like Lv6-7, all of the rest of the EXP was from her clearing out the reinforcements. Due to me putting a ton of my unneeded stuff onto my benchwarming item mules, I actually ended up having to Hammerne an Iron Bow twice due to the sheer amount of fighting Botan was doing in order to get her, Polka and Lamy around the map to pick up the chests afterwards.

This is actually awesome

It’s because like 6-7 reinforcements spawn each turn until the end of time on that map. Even with ??? down you still have to somehow get through them (even if they are not a threat) to reach the chests. Units essentially have to stay next to each other in order to avoid being surrounded and cut off.

I had bows in my convoy, but it was valuable stuff I didn’t want to use. I also had way too much Hammerne lying around and no more ballistae to use them on. Ultimately, the Iron Bow was the most cost-effective way for Botan to keep killing stuff, since she was frequently critting or activating Sure Shot or Deadeye, all of which are effectively insta-kills on the reinforcements.

are the halberdiers on chapter 5 suppose to have 18 defense and 18 speed lol, my entire army does like 5 damage to one let alone two

Is it possible to defeat the reinforcements in Chapter 3X, specifically the Paladins, in Fixed Growth Mode? All of my characters have a hit rate of only 1.

Bug report, for some reason Luna’s Imbue gives her negative healing on 23x specifically (I haven’t noticed it anywhere else, at least). It might be a weird interaction with Miracle where her stored health is incorrect or something, I don’t know - regardless, here Imbue just straight up kills her if she ends a turn with low health (which she did often, since she was my main damage unit lol).

Also, does someone mind letting me know when Towa promotes? I assume it’s a story promotion, but I could really use it soon so she can contribute a little more than just staves lol

from my run the only way to promote towa is through a master seal and funnily enough it lowers her staff mastery but does let her fight back as a necromancer + gains the ability to summon
