I got a question. I’ve been doing the Warlords map for a few days now after completing the second route of the game (my first route, will be doing the other route later), but I remember Riandra giving me some money…and then…I can’t remember if she says bye or something, I’m almost certain she doesn’t leave, but like, I keep looking around my roster and I cannot find her anywhere. Did she leave? I have not used her in any of the post-game maps and I have never let anyone in my playthrough die. So, like, does she leave and is not usable in post game stuff? Or did my game bug and she vanished into thin air or something else?
I wanna point out, and I dunno if this affects that or what, but I did not bring her with me into the final tomb.
This is a bug, and will be fixed. I’ll update the link later today. Thanks for reporting!
The patch has now been updated. No new content was added, so version number remains the same. However, a couple of issues were fixed:
-
There was an issue with Yrgen’s death quote being cut off in ch15x Dark Sun’s Solstice.
-
There was an issue where if you did not deploy Renaida, Riandra, Avanni and/or Camian in Final I, they’d get removed from party as intended, but not added back to your party as was intended. This has been now fixed.
There is also a failsafe in Warlord Lair Nexus to add these characters back to your party. Simply enter it (or restart/leave and re-enter if you’re already in there) and they’ll be added to your party if they’re gone but were not killed.
Thanks for the response. Although, I am trying your failsafe and still no Riandra anywhere. I left and re-entered the nexus, nothing. I left and went into the Aftermath point, but since it doesn’t play the credits again, it acted as if I had selected the nexus again and put me in that map when I didn’t select it. I’m trying not to re-patch because since I am not good with any of this stuff (I only found out how to patch using NUPS in a video) I’m not sure if re-downloading the patch and re-patching it will mean my saves will not work and I’ll have to replay the entire game again or if that won’t be the case. Sorry for ignorance and I know this isn’t that important but dang, my completionist heart will not leave me alone if I can’t finish all the nexus and the first route afterwards, with one MIA character haha.
It worked on my end, so this is an emulator issue.
Save files are compatible as long as your gba file and the save file names match. You need to apply the patch to a clean rom.
Yeah thank you, I did some few tries and I repatched it and used my old save files. The failsafe might be like you said emulator stuff, I use, mGBA. But I have Riandra back now. Thanks for the quick responses. This has been one of my favorite hacks around here, I would put it in my top 5. So much content to enjoy!
So did the failsafe work or did you revert to an older save? I used mGBA as well.
Glad to hear you liked the hack despite facing issues.
I finished both routes but had 0 luck finding the 3 secret characters. There weren’t even hints or anything in the game to let me know where they are, or maybe I’m missing something. Can somebody give me some hints on how to find and recruit them ?
Zarg the creator of this rom told us that there is one secret caractere for each route and there are no hint what so ever to find them
I only managed to get one of them in the new route but only after checking in febuilder and it is really specifique dont hope on stumbuling on them by accident so good luck
God damn that’s tough, time for the 3rd playthrough then. Thanks anyway!
I’m probably missing some obvious strategy, but is there a recommended way to save Hyledd and Ivan other than ‘hope the RNG is merciful?’
Hyledd’s died before I can reach the duo at least 4 times now and I’m getting tired of resetting the chapter.
Which difficulty you’re playing on?
Hard. Is that the recommended difficulty? I’m playing on whatever difficulty was advertised as the recommended one in the new game menu.
EDIT: Finally got lucky, Hyledd dodged 2 attacks in a row and the two finally killed the enemies around them.
Hard is the main difficulty around which the game is balanced, although Lunatic has been taken more into consideration in the second route. I personally recommend Normal for most people, especially if you’re not accustomed to playing FE on its highest difficulty most of the time.
For future reference, here's some advice on how to tackle the first few turns.
What you can do here is: Hyledd one-shots the gargoyle nearby, there is a safe spot to attack it. You should be able to one-round the Mogall with Ivan. Use the Lancereaver to take down the Bonewalker who has Iron Lance. Avoid the bow Bonewalker’s attack range.
Honestly I think my problem here was that I kept aggroing the Bael, which kept killing Hyledd. I’m gonna call this a case of user error, looking back I definitely could’ve been playing smarter. That’s what I get for playing at 12 AM when I’m half awake.
The failsafe did not work, I used older saves.
Btw, Im so happy that I found a Soul Calibur II theme in this hack haha, it is still my favorite fighting game to this day.
In that case if it’s not too much trouble, could you send me a save state or some save files through private messages where you don’t have her in postgame and from Final I or so when you have not entered postgame yet? I could use them for testing purposes to see where the issue is.
As far as I’m aware just support convoes are missing for the fleeing route right?
Character endings and biographies are also work in progress.
Hello.
I’m testing the hackrom and so far I love it, however I’ve found a major bug on Ch5 “Towards the Unknown”
Turns out that the Village never gets destroyed nor it closes when visited, this means you can get infinite Hammerne staffs there. I’m not sure what exactly caused it, but the Brigand reached the Village before me and the message of “The Village was destroyed” popped on each turn.
Besides that, I take the opportunity to say that I love what you did with the difficulty of the game, is punishing but completely fair, except that Ch3 can be beaten in 4 turns without major trouble due to the lack of enemies near the Ship, so that could also be changed.
I will be glad to provide more feedback as I advance on the game.
