[FE8][Complete] Fire Emblem: Emulation Theory (SUPER DELUXE)

Chapter 26x: The fight between Zephiel and Athos is endless. Obligation to skip the cinematic to advance.

“Welcome Creator” is absolute cinema

After comment: It’s was a good hack and the use of a “glitch” was very fun!

New patch, again, fixing unintended softlocks and, most important, the bug that prevents you from seeing one crucial cutscene! Grammar and timing fixes were focused on chapters 10-13 this time. Another pebble removed in the mountain that is dialogue polishing.

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed

Patch Notes
  • You can now no longer disrupt time-space continuum by killing The Witness of Tagata in its first encounter.
  • Fixed some bugs that happened after reaching the later turns of Chapter 23.
  • The corruption now spreads faster in Chapter 23.
  • Fixed the “Unheal” glitched item not triggering any flags upon enemy death. The combat animation is now not broken when using this item.
  • Fixed chapter 26x’s starting event clashing if you had combat animations ON.
  • Fixed some conversations reducing the background music forever.
  • Polished some early game dialogue.

has recruitment guide

Not yet, no. I didn’t think it’s needed, since the few optional units that don’t appear on the map are in villages that are either marked or never destroyed. For the one unit that requires you to do multiple steps, those steps are shown during the playthrough

Tranks

I capitulate 17 as raisin ??

Chapter 17 is defeat all three bosses

I already defeated more it doesn’t pass of phase

Huh, that’s weird. Last month, someone else had the same issue.

I’m still unable to replicate it. I would ask you for the save file, if you have a Discord account to send it to me. If you don’t, can you tell me if you did something out of the way? I’m not sure what could it be, but any bit of info helps.

Sorry for the inconvenience! I have no idea what could cause this softlock

Apologies if this has been brought up before but in chapter 9 I believe I’m only getting one turn to eliminate the enemies instead of 2. This is also strange because when I was playing through difficult mode (before I gave up on ch. 10), I could’ve sworn that I got the 2 turns.

Are you visiting the villages on sequential turns? The “timer” for you to get caught is global, it resets once you kill every enemy in the map.

For example, say you visited one village in turn 2, then on turn 3 you visit another without killing the turn 2 enemies. You’ll have to kill both reinforcements to reset the timer.

This should’ve been stated in game. My bad! I guess the reason why you got the 2 turns in Difficult mode is because you didn’t go as fast.

If you don’t do that, then it’s a bug

I never got proper feedback on Difficult mode, and chapter 10 can be damn brutal if you don’t go as fast as you need to. I’m surprised you got through the infamous bullshit chapter 7, but I can see why chapter 10 and its straight-to-the-point cruelty got you. Sadly, it’s the last truly hard/harsh chapter. You were so close…

I remember one person got up to at least chapter 18, and at that point I assume the game gets easier, so I guess it’s beatable? Anyways, sorry for the brutal early game. Hard mode’s really meant to be for second playthroughs.

I was thinking of adding an easy mode for those that just wanted to read the story (which is what I care about the most), but I need there to be more things to change in order for me to gain enough energies to return to this god damned hack (like adding a warning on how chapter 9 works)

It’s not even with the villages. Even with the reinforcements in the middle of the map, I only get one player phase then an enemy phase before the djute get alerted.

Side Note: don’t know how I made it through chapter 7, but I was not gonna deal with those ch. 10 nomads lmao

Alright, now it’s a glitch. There’s this annoying feature that requires counters to be manually reset when you need to use them, and I forgot to add this reset in this chapter. It should be fixed now, with the new version on the old link.

If you don’t want to patch the game, killing ANY reinforcements (the best course of action would be to go to the bottom right hut, while not passing through the bridge to the middle zone with the mountain) would reset the counter and make them two turns again.

Today’s patch fixes some grammar and event issues, but very few. Just adding this for archiving purposes

The mid reinforcements spawn 1 turn earlier than usual. I had this to be the case in normal mode, too, but the timing was so asphyxiating I decided against it.

Then, I added it to hard mode!

Probably need to take a closer look to that mode…

Thanks for the feedback!

I don’t know if it has something to do with Nomad class bases because they are offensively leagues above the enemies even later in the stage. This combined with their movement made them extremely oppressive in large numbers as though their defenses are low, their speed makes them hard to hit, and especially with the hard mode hit bonus they will hit you, and no one sans a good Perceval can take much of that.

Yo RecursiveBow, i wonder if i could get permission to translate your hack to spanish.

A spanish translation is in the works by @Seth21, with myself as a guide! I’m honoured to be part of Dear Ñ, and hope this translation helps build a strong spanish community

With this translation, I’m planning another big gameplay update, with at least one chapter rework, a better Hard Mode, and probably a story mode (that is, a simple mode that buffs your units to make the game significantly easier).

If anyone has feedback on the gameplay (units/chapters to buff/nerf), this is your chance to help me!

Been playing though the game, having an absolute blast so far. Just finished Chapter 12, and it is easily the standout map so far. Everything was just so… eerie, with the glitched out tiles and the wonky enemies and everything. And the music was an incredible choice, so disorienting, especially on the first few turns. It just got the vibes down perfectly I guess.

I did experience my first few major, likely unintentional glitches on Chapter 12. (It is a bit hard to tell which glitches are intentional and unintentional, which I think is funny.) Game crashed when I fought the priest with the Unheal staff. I had stolen Zephiel’s Iron Rune, so I couldn’t get crit, maybe that was why? Also, the villages with the Silver Card can be visited multiple times. I grabbed two, just to make visiting both shops a little easier, but the game only removes one Silver Card at the end of the map. I just started chapter 13 and I just… have another one. Not sure if it will go away at some point, we’ll see. The same thing goes for the Guiding Ring village, you can visit it repeatedly. I now have 17 Guiding Rings.

Overall, this hack is an absolute blast man. Nomad maps were a bit obnoxious, and I do wish there were more uses of the Lightcode weapons. Fingers crossed I’ll be getting more soon. But I’m absolutely loving things so far, and I’ll give a more complete review once I finish it.

Thanks for the feedback, these bugs were caught and fixed

Woah I didn’t know you could do that! It’s completely unintentional for Rennac to have enough speed to steal from zephiel. I don’t know how to feel about that, since it’s a pretty strong item (maybe?) for chapter 3

Eirika does get weaker and significantly more boring without her sword. it has a lot of uses but I’ve run into situations where I run out of it before the end of chapter 10. Perhaps it’s a good idea to make it have infinite uses

Glad you’re having fun with the game!

Iron Rune didn’t feel too strong, I basically just slapped it on Nino and forgot about it. She hasn’t leveled Luck a single time. If you don’t want that possible though, I think there’s an anti-stealing skill in SkillSys or something? I might be misremembering. Infinite use Lightcode Sword probably isn’t the best idea, since that means infinite 1-2 range healing. Maybe just like a second one at some point?

Maybe I can ask the players nicely not to abuse it ? You’re right, but it stinks

There are more lightcode weapons. Since they’re conceptually really strong, they’re mid-late game items.
