1.0 release! Exactly 4 years since I started.
I gave myself a conservative estimate of completing the hack in 3 years. I was 33% over, but it’s felt way damn longer. But we’ve crawled over the finish line!

Changes, of course there was going to be last minute changes
I cannot resist touching early game with my greasy hands, Marlow gets an overhaul as a debuffer and combat healer.
Francisca gets a probably unneeded buff and Yvette joins the infantry refresh creep.
Krynia and Murky received reworks to their skill and prf respectively.
Ellerie trivia and my obsession with changing stuff that doesn't need to be changed
Fun fact, Ellerie went through 7 personal skill changes.
Version 1: Daunt
- Rejected because low % crit is eh.
Version 2: Armoured blow
- Rejected because boring.
Version 3: Silent pride and frenzy
- Rejected because lord is not meant to be a combat legend. (this did not age well)
Version 4: AoE sleep
- Rejected because… AoE sleep was really stupid. Don’t ask about the Marlow rework.
Version 5: AoE sleep + opportunist (for synergy, but with +10 dmg)
- Rejected because see above and also ranged lances.
Version 6: Summoner
- Rejected because… I don’t remember, actually. Maybe because it’d change the early game too much. (this did not age well)
Version 7; Lead by Example (+10 damage buff to adjacent allies on a kill)
- Honestly, this was a fine skill. Situational, but pretty powerful. However, me being someone who just can’t stop changing stuff, wanted the lord to be extremely powerful, cementing her presence in gameplay as well as in story. And that’s how we got:

- I made this change when I was pretty far into hack development and unsurprisingly, this was the catalyst for a design change for the whole hack.
I’ve always loved skills that felt incredibly powerful in the player’s hands. As I learned more about stuffing around with builder, I got to making units a lot more extreme, from small bonuses to all kinds of refreshes, auto-repairing prfs and mobility boosts. Ellerie is a good example (though no unit has quite been buffed like she has). It’s shaped CC into a completely different hack to when it was before.
Is for better or for worse? I don’t know. If you ask me though, I am happy with the change. The hack is a good deal easier than before, but I have a good time putting extremely powerful tools to use.
