Can you change background music mid-chapter in FEBuilder?

Hi, so I’m wondering if you can change background music mid-chapter in FEBuilder?

For example, after character A talks to character B, the map music would change and stay that way for the rest of the map. Or when a specific event happens - like enemy reinforcements come - the music shifts to match the tense atmosphere.

Can you do that in FEBuilder?

In the chapter editor, there are two fields for alternate phase BGM if flag 4 is on. Turning that flag on will make those songs play instead. If you want more than 2 options, there is a patch.

Wow so convenient! I just choose that event → In the Event Editor I search for the Flag ON command → set Flag 4 → write to ROM. Once the event triggers, the flag turns on and the BGM changes (writing it down here for other noobs like me)

Thanks for helping

Hey, so there’s a small problem: I’ve set flag 4 to turn on secondary BGM for player phase and enemy phase. But when I had cleared out/almost cleared out the enemies, the victory music did not play. It just kept playing that same BGM until the end. So how do you change it?

You could unset the flag, use the patch that sets victory music per chapter, or the patch that lets you freely change BGM by making it trap data.

I see, this patch right?

I installed it and used this command, set it to not override victory music. Works fine now
