Are different standing sprites for mode 5-6 possible for lances?

problem:
jstanding.png is this

But in game its showing the standing sprite for modes 1-3, which is this (standing.png)

Despite mode 5-6 starting with jstanding.png ingame it will start with standing.png THEN it will go to jstanding.png and then proceed to do the normal animation.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have you tried referencing Ephraim’s promoted animation script? I know that he uses a different standing animation for ranged attacks than he does melee.

I think this happens because the animation is led by modes 9-11 before the usual animation modes (1-3 or 5-6) get used. Mode 9 and 10 are the true starting frame for any melee animation (1-3) while mode 11 is used for ranged animations. Just change the mode 11 frame to your ranged staning frame and it should fix the issue (that’s how Ephraim’s unpromoted animation handles it!)

For example (An animation script excerpt for something I was working on that has a different melee and ranged starting frame):
