A topic about map related stuff

i’m not sure why i only map at like 1am
but that’s where i am right now i guess

anyway, inspired by @WAve, i decided to take a crack at some series maps with stock fe8 gba tilesets. ngl, a pain for me because I’m so used to making at least one tile to fit what I want >_>

Slightly less lazy indeed is the area closer to the bottom right suppose to be the entrance from Chapter 7 in Binding Blade?

yeah
i’ve never known where that entrance led so I just made an “educated” guess at lol

It’s really interesting to see the ostia city map connected with these two maps. In my take I just filled that area with more castle interior.

honestly it’s probably too close to the city, but meh
i did like your take a lot

*sees map layout

well done though, seems pretty close to the original.
maybe a darker green palette would have been a bit better since this one is kind of very bright, but the overall terrain fidelity with the SNES version was done right :+1:

probably it’s just me, but in terms of terrain tiles, i liked Genealogy’s the most back from the pixel era.
the saturation was quite fine back then, not too bright or too dark, and the details were blending together in a more natural way, unlike GBA tiles that have this sort of “way too much defined” art style.

I doubt I’ll be messing around with palettes given this has so many custom tiles added (and I didn’t even add the special cliffs because I think they’re ugly), but thanks

Probably going to be another one coming today lol

*tomorrow guess i got busy

boo i don’t feel like doing the other half of this map

oh right ch19
