Pretty much this.I prefer using ‘mod’ because people seem to be more familiar with the term as opposed to “ROM hacking”. Like, I say mod and they know the gist of what I’m doing right off the bat.

I recently showed some screenshots of TRTR to a co-worker who’s only played Awakening and he thought it was pretty cool.

That makes sense, I shall do this if the occasion ever arises lol.

I actually end up talking with people about hacking quite a bit, despite not really producing any real hacks or anything. Even wrote a paper on it for a composition class. It’s just not really a topic that comes up when talking to too many new faces.

On another note, hacker sounds much cooler than modder, in my opinion.

It sure does, but most people I hang with, have the hollywood stereotype of a person mashing keys on a keyboard when the word hacker is said lol.
