It really depends on the topic. Lots of the hacking topics do need to be necroposted in, especially if they’re for unanswered questions. Other situations such as active discussions (or rather, dead discussions) should be avoided.

Eh I disagree for the most part; unanswered questions that get randomly answered a year later don’t really help the person who was wondering(unless they weren’t able to move on until they obtained that answer).

tbh I’m fine with necroposting. Sometimes there’s a stigma against starting a new thread for one that’s already been made, but if there is one but it’s dead but you need to say something about the subject… you’d be left with no option. As such, I would never discourage necroposting. Plus, it’s good for nostalgia.
